The AREA Science Park Consortium manages and promotes the Science and Technology park called AREA Science Park, the first science park in Italy, established in 1978, coinciding with the creation of the most important and prestigious international parks. In 1999 the Consortium became a National Research Body.Since 2005 it is a 1st level National research body of the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR).Today AREA is one of the main role players in the research system of Friuli Venezia Giulia and one of the most active promoters of technology transfer at national level. The Consortium is conscious of its points of excellence and aims to act as a national agency for the promotion and management of innovation processes in companies and public administration, striving to develop the international aspects of its role. The Science and Technology Park acts as a central link between the academic world and the industrial sector and between innovation and business. It is an essential and effective structure that promotes regional innovation to achieve results of excellence. With this aim in mind, AREA Science Park directly promotes and manages a large number of projects. One of these is the DomoticaFVG Project. The Domotica FVG project aims to make the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region an international point of reference for research, development, production and distribution of domotic systems, promoting the technology transfer between different industries to create new products and applications at competitive costs. The project is based on a business-to-business and business-to-institution network for the research and development of new automation prototypes and solutions for the house. It aims to improve the quality of life, combining solutions that are attractive, safe, functional and affordable and that, thanks to industrial production, can be marketed on a large scale. The Domotica FVG project is primarily aimed at businesses, but it also involves universities, laboratories, research centres, public and private institutions. It is aimed at all who wish to develop innovative products, processes and methods in the domotics sector or increase their competitiveness through the opportunities offered by the initiative. It is an opportunity to match both demand and offer for innovation which can create new areas of business and spin-offs. Moreover, the Domotica FVG project wishes to involve all parties and consultants operating in the sector as well as bodies, organisations and associations other than the project partners, who are interested in spreading the initiative. The potential for this multi-disciplinary and multi-application technology is vast, with multiple development principles. Very important is the area of Health, safety and ergonomics so monitoring, healthcare and security systems for the elderly, the handicapped, the ill and children; product and process redesign for improved usability, accessibility and conformity to standards.

Many thanks for the hospitality. I’m Mr. Simone Melani the Project Manager Cesvit Microelettronica srl a SME situated in a very importat textile district city of Tuscany, Prato, I am very interested in trying pertner to develop projects in both civil and military. The company for which work is a R&D laboratory working in the areas most varied: from microelectronics to ITC, from RFID FPGA to ASIC and varied. All this allows me to look for projects in almost every area, security, sensors, defence, medicine, distribution, logistics, etc. ... Personally, I prefer much the military rather than civilian, but all depends greatly by the product\project that is going to develop. I am fairly new to this work (2 years), I previously worked as a commercial attaché in the field of demining and UXO disposal. You have already understood I have some difficulty with correc English, but I assure that my colleagues engineers are absolutely able to develop relationships at the highest levels in the technical, administrative and planning in general. Thanks again for the opportunity and soon Best Regards

We are at the at the National Research Center have various experiences , beside our agriculture division we have medicine division and another divisions on all branches of science . All these divisions could cooperate with our project to make rural development in the area of northern west coast of the mediterranean located in Egypt .
Improving barley production in the northern west coast in Egypt . Barley is a very important grain in the world today. It is very versatile in every way. It has been well adapted through its evolution. Now however, barely has become well known and so have its many uses. Barley, which is of the genus Hordeum, is a cereal that belongs to the grass family Poaceae. Barley has many different varieties. The most common is Hordeum vulgare, which is a six-rowed type of barley that has a spike notched on opposite sides with three spikelets on each notch. At each notch there is a flower or floret that later develops into a kernel. Barley is very adaptable to various environments. In fact, it is the most adaptable of the cereals. Barley is an annual grass that has two growing seasons, winter and spring. . Barley also has a very good resistance to dry heat compared to other small grains. This feature allows it to grow near desert areas such as North Africa. Barley contains some substances increase immunity in human body. Barley is widely and is currently a major crop of the temperat and tropical areas. Barley ( Hordeum vulgare L.) is the main cereal crop grown in the rainfed areas of Egypt . It occupies about 300,000 feddans ( c . 126000 ha) in the Northwest coast . Epanding the agricultural land base to the drier arable land in Egypt , ÔÇ£ especially the north . west costal region is becoming a necessity to meet the food demands of the growing population . Northwest coast . more desert areas , either sandy or calcareous, have to be put under cultivation. Such soils are poor with respect to their physico-bio-chemical properties, soil water ÔÇô plant relationships as well as their nutritional status . Reclamation and land utilization of such soils are faced by several difficulties Under such severe conditions, desired yield levels are difficult to attain. Proper management of these calls for specialized approaches for sustainable productivity. The practical proper management using organic or inorganic chemical amendments. . The aim of this proposal is to improving barley production in the North ÔÇô west coastal of Egypt by using agronomic treatments and other treatments such as organic manure to satisfy the local demand and export to europe. Egyption Bedouins in the north-west coastal used to cultivate barley with very primerval methods. The forseen impact of the project is to improve the methods and the treatments to cultivate barley with recent activity and recovery of some substances usefull for immunity for human body . The direct cntact with those people may elaborate their life completely.

I am contacting you regarding your email promoting a CIP-PSP 1.4 eHealth Pilot-Net DOMCARE. The City of Grenoble in France would be very interested in joining a European project on the use of ICT based solutions for the ageing population and the role of the "home as a care environment". Like many local authorities across Europe the City of Grenoble has committed itself to facilitate and to increase the use of ICT in daily life for elderly people and people with chronical diseases. As a local public authority, the City of Grenoble is on the one hand defining policies in favour of the ageing population together with the other local public authorities. On the other hand, via its social services, a representative of the end user, that is the elderly people and their families using the new technologies developed. In this context, we have paid a special attention to your email referring to the Call: CIP-ICT PSP-2008-2 Objectiv 1.4 ICT for ageing well with cognitive problems, combining assistive and independent living technologies. It appears that there is a big gap between TIC's developed by the companies, most of the time by SME's, and their access to the market for their use by a large public, the public authorities have a huge interest in developing the services which will help to fill this gap. We believe that European funded projects are a good opportunity to develop at European level common approaches of the same problems associating all the actors of the value chain and to help exchanging and testing solutions to create the market. In Grenoble there are already existing platforms. Further there are a few small companies and researchers developing new technologies which can be applied to the "home as a care environment". Thus, many actors of the local ecosystem could participate beside the City itself within the pilot project. Could you give me information on the number of and quality of members to your consortium? I would be very interested to discuss with you on the DOMCARE project on the phone at a time which will be convenient to you.

3) Information & Communication Technologies
