Deadline FP7 eHealth - 3.2. QUALITY, EFFICIENCY AND SOLIDARITY OF HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS INCLUDING TRANSITIONAL HEALTH SYSTEMS
Submitted by consen on Wed, 2008-10-15 14:18.The objective is to provide, in the light of new knowledge, scientifically validated tools to
allow countries to learn from the experience of other health systems and their
sustainability, taking into account the importance of national contexts and population
characteristics (ageing, mobility, migration, education, socioeconomic status and the
changing world of work etc). Focus will be on organisational, financial and regulatory
aspects of health systems (assessing the cost, efficiency and benefits of different
interventions including as regards patient safety), their implementation and their outcomes
in terms of effectiveness, efficiency and equity (including disadvantaged groups). Special
attention will be paid to investment issues and human resources, including home care
strategies.
Expected impact: Projects should advance the state of the art in the field of health systems
research and enhance cooperation between researchers in Europe and other geographic
regions to promote integration and excellence of European research in the field. This
research should develop the scientific evidence base that supports the Member States to
organise better their health systems according to the common principles of equity,
solidarity, and universality. The knowledge generated should empower the policy and
decision maker better to manage and reform healthcare systems in view of common
challenges and within the common framework of the European Union.

The event is designed to help you meet potential collaborators and facilitate the formation of research consortia. European Commission staff will also be present to advise on the specifics of the 2009-2010 work programme, and on the general rules and procedures for participating in calls for proposals.

Forthcoming features on this site will allow prospective participants to present proposal ideas and express interest in those of others in advance of the Event itself. SECURE-FORCE exhibition on ICT-2008 25-27Nov in LyonSecure-Force is a CSA project funded under the FP6. The consortium is composed of 25 partners from 14 countries. Each of them is an expert in the field of innovation and R&D support actions in the field of ICT and related sectors.
SECURE-FORCE aims at studying and disseminating the critical success factor for SME's involvement in European R&D programmes. The project covers the ICT and Security related R&D projects under the FP7 and national level as well. SECURE-FORCE support SME's to be involved in these programmes. The project provides also a qualified partners search facility for potential coordinators that are looking for additional partners for their project and proposals.

Dear eBSN members, I would like to draw your attention to the European SME week, 6-14 May 2009.
The Commission is organising the first European SME week in May 2009 to inform SMEs about available support at EU and national level and to encourage more people to become entrepreneurs. The SME week will be a European umbrella campaign for activities that take place throughout Europe. It will be launched in Brussels on 6 May but the vast majority of events during the week will take place across Europe in the Member States.
The Commission is organising the first European SME week in May 2009 to inform SMEs about available support at EU and national level and to encourage more people to become entrepreneurs. The SME week will be a European umbrella campaign for activities that take place throughout Europe.
The SME week will run from 6 to 14 May 2009. It will be launched in Brussels on 6 May but the vast majority of events during the week will take place across Europe in the Member States. The closing event will be organised together with the Czech Presidency on 13 and 14 May 2009. This event will include the European Enterprise Awards ceremony.
We are calling for business organisations and all interested parties at national, regional and local level to organise events during the SME week. The SME week is an opportunity to promote the support that your organisation can provide to SMEs and potential entrepreneurs.

OPEN-DAYS Committee of the Regions (CoR) Directorate-General for Regional Policy (DG REGIO) 6-9Oct08 BXL
Submitted by consen on Tue, 2008-07-01 09:36.The programme is composed of 120 sessions that will run for three days, starting on Tuesday 7th October in the morning and ending on Thursday, 9th October at lunchtime.
All sessions are grouped under four thematic priorities:
1) Innovating regions: Promoting research, technological development and innovation
2) Sustainable development: Regional responses to climate change
3) Cooperation and networking: Exchange of best practice in regional development
4) Looking forward: A European cohesion policy for tomorrow
The programme of these sessions is developed and hosted in roughly equal parts by the Brussels regional office conglomerates, DG REGIO and the CoR in cooperation with partners from the Investor's Café (representatives from banking & business, civil society groups and Commission Directorates-General)
Organisers
The OPEN DAYS event is co-organised by the Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the Commission's Directorate-General for Regional Policy (DG REGIO). The organisers are responsible for the design, structure and overall programme of the event, the coordination of its preparation and communication with all partners.
